Vitamin C- also known as ascorbic acid, vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that is necessary for collagen formation and tissue repair. Aside from promoting resistance to infection, it helps maintain blood vessel integrity, which allows the body to carry oxygen and nutrients to areas such as the skin. Recent data has shown vitamin C reducing the incidence of coronary artery disease in women, osteoporosis prevention, and reducing the risk of Alzheimer’s disease in combination with Vitamin E. An exogenous source of Vitamin C is required for collagen formation and tissue repair.
Vitamin B6 – also known as pyridoxine, B6 is a water-soluble vitamin used in energy production. It also helps synthesize serotonin and norepinephrine, which influence mood. Melatonin, which is derived from serotonin, regulates Circadian rhythm and sleep. Sleep is vital for weight management, mood, pain relief, and anti-aging.
Vitamin D- a fat-soluble vitamin responsible for increasing intestinal absorption of calcium, magnesium, and phosphate, and multiple other biological effects such as modulation of cell growth, neuromuscular and immune function, and reduction of inflammation.
